Should I use goat follow on formula?
Follow-on formula is only suitable for children that are at least six months old. It is commonly used between ages 6 months to 12 months. As you may expect, this kind of formula has been especially made to provide your child with the right nutrients during this stage of their life.
Before we elaborate any further, we would like to stress that breastfeeding is always the best option for babies. That being said, there are medical reasons why a mum may choose bottle feeding instead. If you do decide to bottle-feed or mix feed your child, always make sure to sterilise utensils by boiling and boil safe drinking water to make up the formula in question. You can also obtain an approved steriliser that makes the process faster and more convenient. Please note that there are other options available to you as well; this includes cold water sterilising.
What is the best goat follow on formula?
Our goat milk follow on formula is packed with useful vitamins and minerals, but also contains high levels of prebiotic oligos that may make digestion easier. Each of our formula cans also comes with a built-in leveller, making formula preparation easier and more straightforward.
What is different about a goat follow on formula?
While follow on cow’s milk formula and goat’s formula may look very similar at first glance, there are some differences between both. As we briefly mentioned already, goat’s milk is an outstanding source of natural vitamins and minerals; this includes vitamin D and vitamin C. On top of that, goat’s milk contains much higher levels of prebiotic oligos. To understand just how useful these high levels can be, let’s take a closer look at their function.
When prebiotic oligos are ingested, they travel to the large intestine and remain there; this means they are not absorbed by the body. By remaining in the large intestine, they can start to absorb water. Once stool passes through that section of the gastrointestinal system, the stool may become softer and easier to pass. In turn, this may reduce the chances of common signs of digestive distress in children.

How to prepare goat follow on formula?
Detailed instructions on how to prepare our formula can be found on the website and on the cans. Please follow the quantities provided in our instructions, unless stated otherwise by a healthcare professional.
Before you can start making your formula, you should always sterilise your feeding equipment. Fortunately, there are various methods you could use to sterilise feeding equipment these days; this includes cold water sterilising, electric sterilising and boiling. Since each of these methods has its own advantages, it often comes down to the parents’ preferences and the budget available to them.
Once the bottle and teat has been sterilised, you can add the required amount of water to the baby bottle. Then, use the leveller to add the right amount of powdered formula. Once you have added the powder, you need to dissolve the powder completely by gently turning the bottle over. While you could shake it gently to dissolve the powder, it might cause air bubbles and could make drinking the formula a lot harder for your little one. Too many air bubbles could also cause reflux and other digestive distress, so this is an important step in the formula preparation process.
When the formula is prepared, always check the temperature of the formula before you give it to your little one. It is actually a common misconception that formula must be heated up. That being said, some children prefer warm formula over cold, so it can be down to preference. If you do warm up formula, put a little bit of formula on your wrist to make sure it is isn’t too warm.
